As our Dutch pride Lara Stone magnifies the well bespoken curves-or-no-curves discussion, the father and founder of over-exposure, Terry Richardson throws in some more food to chew on…literally.

Yeey, we got ourselves another epic fashion moment! Like the one of Lady Gaga in her meat dress, this time it also involves food but now in combination with Chrystal Renn (Author of ‘Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves’) who’s regarded as ‘too fat’ for most people in the fashion industry. Who else could shoot these pictures than Terry, known for his in-your-face approach on matters and translating this to pictures.

Time changes, and so does fashion. And so do beauty ideals. So if the fashion industry is bored and kind of stuck with it’s own bony image, things begin to change and swift, just to shake everybody up, to be like nobody yet is and to break the borders and seek another ‘normal’. Call it an anti-fashion gesture, with the anti-model on the cover, I love it. Whether this is healthy or not, who cares, as long as you’re on the trend and not doing what everybody else is doing.

Was this predictable? Kind of. Although most people love thin looking people better in clothes, there should be a statement of Vogue to put plus-size models in charge on it’s 90 year anniversary issue. It’s different, it’s a change, which probably means it will sell a lot more. Although my French is poor I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

To set aside your own copy of French Vogue in Amsterdam, call Athaneum (situated on Spui) and they’ll be happy to hold one back for you.
