So what do you do as a Dutch photographer to get some recognition for the hard work you’ve done? Next to using your own network, posting on your blog daily and be featured in magazines and exhibitions there’s also a good opportunity to showcase your work and win 10.000 Euro by submitting it to the grand ‘BouwInBeeld‘ price (or simply: BIB). But to give away they must first have the 10.000 E and therefore they’re still looking for fundraisers (so spread the word).
Out of the many submissions (200) only 10 have been selected to develop new work in 4 months around this year’s theme: ‘Playground’. Interpreted in many ways, ‘playground’ should stimulate a wide variety of ideas about what exactly is playing to you? What is the game you like to play? Their work will be shown in june/july 2011 at the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen after which a critical jury will roll their eyes over the pictures and make the final decision who’s the best ‘player’ of the Netherlands.

Let me introduce Hanna:
I did 2 collections since I started a year ago. It’s the rythm I’d like to keep. I like also the idea of having “mini-collections” according to the opportunities or my vibe of the moment.
I like using materials and technologies that are not supposed to be used in jewellery. I use a lot of copper, a metal with industrial connotations, circuit board, pyrite stones and a lot of different chains
My next collection will be called “Meteor”, obvious reference to meteorites which fascinate me. I became infatuated by Pyrite stones, its raw aspect which totally breaks with the very geometrical collection “Odissey”.
