I’m back from being gone! The past 2 months I’ve been traveling throughout Amsterdam to be eye to eye with it’s vibrant, happy and somewhat crazy inhabitants for my internship project called Spinnin’ Yarns. The website, the selection, the interviews, the photography, the stories, everything was a great learning experience for me with help from the team. The expression ‘spinning a yarn’ was something I learned on the way as well, which basically means telling a hell of a story, with some exaggeration added here and there.
The project started as an online experience where I selected people throughout the city to have an interview with which I later will put on the blog accompanied by a portrait picture. For now there are three people to start with, but each week more and more stories will be put online until the end of July. Then the offline experience must be ready as I’m going to translate each story into a print, (after all, I’m graduating AMFI as a 2D design student) The prints will be silk screened on t-shirts and exhibited in Amsterdam. For now I’m still running some interviews, taking pictures and writing a few stories, but in July I will fully dedicate myself on making some awesome illustrations that I can print. Stay tuned! There’s much more coming up in the next week.

Hello! You probably don’t remember me but you took my picture for a street style shot when I was in Amsterdam last year (I had a big red scarf on and I’m short). Anyway, I just found your card and, as a wanabee documentary photographer myself, I’ve found this project really interesting. I can’t believe your blog isn’t more popular because you’re clearly very talented!
