I know a lot of people have been inspired by the movie ‘Black Swan’ directed by Darren Aronofsky, an american director born in NY who studied film at Harvard University who also directed one of my favorite movies ‘Requiem for a Dream’ (2000). Black swan is definitely a must-see! Camerawork, costumes, cast and especially Natalie Portman are very impressive. I didn’t see the movie when I made these series of photo’s, but they kind of reminded me of it.

“Ode to the creative fashion talent” THAT’s what PS magazine promises in one sentence. Founded by Stefanie Mensink and Puck Landewé, this magazine is full of interesting, beautiful and inspiring stories of young Dutch fashion talents who, apparently, all happen to somehow know each other? It wants to inspire people to live up the dream they have and go for it, to live life like it should be, with lots fashion, shoots and illustrations. And I’m the lucky one to contribute! In stores end of April in NL.

How small this world is. I happen to know Puck well and have been following her on this exciting journey of making this magazine. There’s even a really funny story to this that began at the day we had to the chance to stand along the founder of CODE, another Dutch fashion magazine, to document a photoshoot for their September issue last year. Together with 30 students we were making Odd Magazine (available worldwide in selected stores) at the time and this was another collaboration we were assigned to do. She’s one of the most down to earth people I’ve met and I’m very happy to contribute to PS Magazine!

I’ve had the honor to look at their dummy and I have to tell you the shoots are amazing! Be sure you buy it as soon as it’s out in April! More on this later..
